  • We are looking for a technician that is able to operate the lighting board, focus lights, record/source sound effects, and assist with set building for our upcoming 2026 theatre season. The Venue Technician will report to the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer and will be expected to maintain a clean and safe theatre environment. 

    Job Description 

    • Work with Globus Theatre’s creative team and artists to ensure a smooth load-in and set up of lighting and sound equipment; and any extra stage set up. 

    • Be responsible for the setup, focus and operation of lighting; the set up and operation of sound and assist in stage and scenic set up. 

    • Perform preventative maintenance to theatre systems, tools and equipment including lighting, sound, and staging while assisting in maintaining an inventory of these and all theatre technical assets. 

    • Ensure that all technical requirements are met for each show. 

    • Communicate information and updates with Artistic Director and Artistic Producer when necessary. 

    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, painting, and removing garbage from stage and surrounding work-related areas. 

    • Performs other duties related to the theatre’s tech needs as assigned. 

    Selection Criteria 

    • College certificate or diploma in technical theatre

    • Over 1-year related experience in a performing arts theatre environment 

    • Valid non-probationary Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License 

    Hourly rate: $20-$28/hour commensurate with experience 

    Contract Start Date: May 1, 2026

  • We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Show Technician for contract positions supporting specific productions within our 2026 theatre season. Contracts range from 1-3 months and are tied to individual performances during our season, which runs from May to December.

    Job Description

    • Collaborate with Globus Theatre’s creative team and visiting artists to support efficient load-ins, technical set-ups, and strike for assigned productions. 

    • Set up, focus, program, and operate lighting equipment and boards. 

    • Source, record, set up, and operate sound effects and playback systems. 

    • Assist with stage setup and scenic construction as required. 

    • Ensure all technical elements are performance-ready and meet the artistic requirements of each show. 

    • Perform preventative maintenance on lighting, sound, staging, tools, and equipment, and assist in maintaining an up-to-date technical inventory. 

    • Communicate regularly with the Artistic Director, Artistic Producer and/or Venue Technician regarding technical needs, updates, and any concerns. 

    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including general upkeep of stage and backstage areas. 

    • Perform additional technical duties as required to support production needs. 

    Selection Criteria

    • College certificate or diploma in technical theatre an asset OR currently enrolled in a technical theatre program 

    • Over 1-year related experience in a performing arts theatre environment 

    • Valid non-probationary Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License 

    Hourly rate: $18-$25/hourcommensurate with experience

  • We are looking for an Artistic Administrator to support the artistic and production activities of the company. This is a key administrative and communications role based on-site at the Globus Theatre. The Artistic Administrator will report to the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer, as well as liaise with Box Office Staff, and artists. 

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of administrative expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a true enthusiasm for the performing arts. They will exhibit strong attention to detail and possess outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. 

    Job Description

    • Work with Globus Theatre’s creative team and artists to coordinate internal and external artistic activities.  

    • Manage production calendars and artistic timelines. 

    • Serve as a primary communications liaison between the Artistic Director, Artistic Producer, the administrative team and artists.  

    • Maintain artistic administrative systems, including correspondence and records, artist and production files, script distribution and script archives.  

    • Support the preparation of artistic and technical contracts in collaboration with the Artistic Producer.  

    • Support casting processes and auditions logistics.  

    • Monitor production budgets in collaboration with the Artistic Producer.  

    • Assist the Artistic Team and General Manager with grant-related tasks as required. 

    • Conduct research on emerging artists, plays, and industry trends. 

    Selection Criteria

    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Arts Administration, Business, or related field 

    • Over 1-year of experience in administration and communications (experience in a performing arts theatre environment is an asset) 

    • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities 

    • Valid non-probationary Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and vehicle 

    Hourly rate:  $45,000-$50,000, per annum, based on experience

  • We are looking for a Box Office Manager to oversee all ticketing operations and ensure exceptional customer service for patrons. The Box Office Manager will report to the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer. This is a key administrative and communications role based on-site at the Globus Theatre. Afternoon, evening and weekend availability is necessary for this position. 

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a blend of administrative expertise, exceptional communication skills, and strong leadership/management skills.  

    Job Description

    • Oversee all ticket sales, subscriptions, group sales, and special event ticketing 

    • Monitor daily sales activity and generate revenue reports 

    • Maintain high standards of customer service for in-person, phone, and online sales 

    • Resolve patron concerns and ticketing issues professionally and promptly 

    • Ensure accessibility compliance and accommodations for patrons 

    • Supervise, create and manage work schedules for box office staff and volunteers 

    • Maintain accurate weekly financial and ticketing records 

    • Work closely with marketing, Donor/Sponsorship Liaison, the Artistic Team and General Manager to coordinate promotions and campaigns 

    • Coordinate with Venue Manager to ensure smooth performance operations 

    Selection Criteria

    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Arts Administration, Business, or related field 

    • Over 1-year of experience in box office or ticket management experience.  

    • Experience in a leadership role and/or staff management  

    • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities

  • We are looking for a Box Office Assistant for our upcoming 2026 theatre season. The Box Office Assistant will report to the Box Office Manager, as well as the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer.  The Box Office Assistant will be expected to work in the theatre and box office location in Bobcaygeon. Evening availability is necessary with occasional weekends for this position.  

    Job Description

    • Customer Service: In-person ticket sales as well as inbound and outbound phone calls. 

    • Processing cash, debit and credit card transactions, and balancing deposits. 

    • Operating computerized ticketing systems and ensuring all account data is captured accurately in Tixhub. 

    • Providing information about all products and services available at Globus Theatre. 

    • Adhering to all ticketing policies and procedures 

    • Checking voicemail daily and delivering messages to colleagues on time. 

    • Assist with junior marketing duties such as online events listings, poster distribution, and email lists. 

    Selection Criteria

    • Strong previous Customer Service experience 

    • High level of computer literacy

  • ItWe are looking for a friendly and fun candidate to fill the exciting role of our Camp Facilitator this summer.  

    About our Camp: 

    For the 6th year we will be running the Downtown Detective Trail, an interactive live performance that features and supports the creativity of young performers in the Kawartha Lakes.  This year, the Downtown Detective Trail is part of Bobcaygeon’s 150th anniversary. Camp is two weeks in July and campers attend both weeks. The first week is rehearsals at our Downtown Studio, culminating the second week in performances via an interactive scavenger hunt bus tour through downtown Bobcaygeon! 

    Job Description  

    • Work closely with the Camp Director and artistic team to execute the production vision  

    • Lead and assist with daily theatre workshops focused on acting, character development, voice, movement, and ensemble-building  

    • Support campers and the Camp Director with scenes and interactive performance moments  

    • Help stage and rehearse scripted and devised material  

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative rehearsal environment  

    • Assist with coordinating performers during the scavenger hunt bus tour and manage transitions between performance locations downtown  

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times  

    • Supervise participants both in the studio and during off-site downtown performances  

    • Enforce camp policies and behavioral expectations  

    • Respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies  

    • Assist with set-up, strike, and organization of props and materials  

    • Support communication with parents as directed by leadership  

    Selection Criteria  

    •  Background in theatre performance, youth people's theatre, or arts facilitation  

    •  Experience working with children or youth   

    •  Strong understanding of rehearsal processes and live performance dynamics 

    • Current First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)

  • We are looking for a fun and enthusiastic Youth Project Theatre Director, responsible for the artistic vision, leadership, and execution of a youth-focused community theatrical productions.  

    Job Description  

    • Guides/ mentors young performers through the creative process from auditions to final performance 

    • Supports and maintains an educational, inclusive, and empowering environment. 

    • Collaborates with the Artistic Director on the script(s) choice (if applicable) 

    • Assists with auditions and casting 

    • Guides rehearsals and helps conceptualize staging, blocking, and character development 

    • Teach performance skills including voice, movement, character work, and stage presence 

    • Develop and maintain a rehearsal schedule 

    • Work collaboratively with the Artistic Team, Box Office Team, any professional artists, stage management and production staff 

    Selection Criteria 

    • Experience directing theatre productions (youth directing experience preferred) 

    • Strong understanding of acting techniques and rehearsal processes 

    • Background in theatre education, youth people's theatre, or arts facilitation 

    • Excellent leadership and communication skills 

    • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening (or ability to obtain) 

    • Current First Aid/CPR certification (preferred) 

    Weekly rate: $1000/week

  • Globus Theatre is looking for a chef to head up their vibrant kitchen. The ideal candidate will have culinary training, know basic kitchen etiquette, have their food handling certificate and adhere to kitchen safety procedures. You should be creative, hard-working and be able to show initiative. 

    Position Description: Catering to a variety of functions from large events to pre-theatre dining, the menu changes every two weeks. As part of our team you would be encouraged, but not required, to experiment with new ideas and introduce your own dishes into our offerings while also executing the dishes that have become staples of our menu. 

    Full-time or part-time hours on offer. 

    Pay: commensurate with experience
